- The 2024 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards marked a significant milestone, celebrating 40 years of excellence in Australian tourism. Hosted in South Australia, the event set a powerful stage for connection, creativity and industry pride. Festivities began with the 2025 Talking Tourism Business Forum at the iconic Adelaide Oval, bringing national tourism leaders together for a meeting of minds. The program then flowed into a welcome cocktail reception at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, where guests explored the immersive Chihuly exhibition, establishing a vibrant and culturally rich opening to the celebrations.
On awards night, guests gathered at Adelaide Oval before embarking on a lively procession across the footbridge, led by the Atlantic Street Band. The journey itself became part of the experience, building excitement as guests arrived for pre-dinner drinks. Under warm festoon lighting, the space evoked a relaxed vineyard inspired ambience that encouraged guests to connect. Fringe performers roamed throughout the area alongside an Adelaide Fringe pop up, creating a playful and welcoming lead into the gala.
- Inside the Adelaide Convention Centre, guests entered a fully transformed space where floor to ceiling digital screens showcased breathtaking South Australian landscapes. Long banquet tables were designed to encourage conversation and shared experience, while a striking star shaped chandelier by Venue Productions cast a warm glow across the room. A standout moment of the evening came with the Australian Girls Choir performing I Still Call Australia Home, a deeply moving tribute that celebrated Qantas’s legacy and the enduring spirit of Australian tourism, uniting the room in pride and reflection.
As the awards concluded, the celebration continued into an energetic after party. DJ Ruby Chew set the tone, keeping the dance floor alive as guests transitioned seamlessly from formal to festive. The night reached its peak with a surprise performance by Electric Fields, whose powerful blend of soul, electronica and culture had the entire room on its feet. Bold, captivating and unmistakably South Australian, the performance delivered an unforgettable finale to a landmark celebration.
